The iPhone 3G was launched globally on Friday the 11th and the news is that Apple has already sold 1 million iPhone 3G devices during the weekend, which is definitely a milestone for Apple. Also there have been more than 10 million applications downloaded from Apple's new App store since its launch. There are around 800 applications available on Apple's App store; out of which 1/4th of the applications are available for free download and others are available for purchase at an affordable price.

Engadget has posted a very detailed review/preview of the iPhone 3G and here is the conclusion of the review:

"There are always things that could be improved, features to be added, fixes that should be applied - but from first to second gen, from year one to year two, Apple has proven itself a relentless upstart in the mobile space, and is showing no signs of slowing down. All those new features give the iPhone even more appeal than ever, but the price is what really seals the deal."

Blacberry-Thunder.jpg

If you remember we recently made a post regarding Blackberry's new touch screen rival device to the iPhone known as the Blackberry Thunder. Well Crackberry has posted some live images of the Blackberry Thunder and it sure is looking good.

The device will feature a tactile feedback touch screen, which when pressed will feel like a button being pressed and will give real feedback by giving a clickety sound and a buzz feeling in your finger. The device will also come with two types of Keyboards. You will find a full QWERTY Keyboard in Landscape mode and a SureType Keyboard in Portrait mode. Here is what Crackberry had to say on the Blackberry Thunder.

"After using an iPhone 3G for a couple of days, I'll say this: while it's pretty, it's not very efficient at getting stuff done (ahem) lighting-quick. A touchscreen BlackBerry like this may just one-up the iPhone in that department because it's based on the speedy and efficient BlackBerry OS while also getting the benefits of a gigantic touchscreen for browsing, reading and viewing media."

iPhone-push-email.jpg

The unavailability of features like Push Email and Physical QWERTY keyboard on the iPhone 2G was one of main reasons why many users preferred a Blackberry or a Nokia over the iPhone. But with the launch of two innovative solutions, things are finally looking good for the iPhone.
