Bug In BlackBerry Enterprise Server Makes Users Vulnerable To Online Attack

Blackberry has issued a warning to corporate Blackberry users about an online attack caused by a bug in one of its services. The bug, which is present in the BlackBerry Enterprise Server, makes users exposed to an online attack risk. The bug is rigged on to images, which users may receive via an email in the BES, and this would leave their blackberry open for exploitation. The flaw in the BES may also enable cybercriminals to take complete control of any Blackberry which is connected to the company's server.
Blackberry is trying to upgrade its server in order to eliminate the bug, but in the meantime has issued warnings to all corporate users to not open mails containing PNG or TIFF format images. It has been confirmed that private blackberry owners are not at risk.
