While nothing's is certain, here's what people are saying:
- It will represent a significant improvement over the 700w
- The "w" signifies that this smartphone will run on Windows Mobile
- Palm will actually end the longstanding suffering of Treo fans by intergrating Wi-Fi into the gadget
- Verizon Wireless will get first dibs, releasing the Treo 800w on September 13
The only thing we can be absolutely sure at this point is that Palm will release a new smartphone soon. Unless they want the negative knee-jerk reactions of the Foleo to stick.
Let's just hope that the Treo 800w, or whatever it will be called, won't feature practically the same hardware packaged into more portable and ergonomic package, because that would really frustrate many loyal Palm users. They desperately need cutting-edge hardware to match the always-acclaimed user-friendliness and ergonomics. Badly.
