Will the Nokia N95′s Camera Hold Up Under Low-Light Conditions?

Here's a compilation of tremendously high-quality photos, all apparently taken with the Nokia N95. Nokia should seriously consider supporting the Nokia Creative community, as they highlight what's possible with the Finnish manufacturer's smartphones.
Without taking anything away from the great work done by the winners of the N95 Photo Awards, I can't help but wonder what kind of pictures the nokia n95 would produce if the conditions were less workable. It's obvious that the winners took full advantage of the ample lighting and the controlled setting.
Does the N95, like many other smartphones with built-in camera, have a harder time taking quality pictures when the conditions are less than perfect? Comments welcome.

From my own experience, I can tell you that it does better than other Nseries cameras in lower light settings, but it’s still not as good as a dedicated camera.

Any camera phone will have trouble in low light because of the size of its sensor – that thing is probably smaller than even one of the keys on the phone.
With sensors that small, the signal to noise ratio is very low. That’s why the noise overpowers the image at night and in other low-light situations.
