A letter from Apple addressed to the FCC concerning the iPhone asks for "short term confidentiality...until June 15, 2007." Which happens to be the last day of the 2007 Worldwide Developers Conference.
The WWDC is traditionally a platform for Apple to showcase its new software technologies. But that's changed in recent years, when Steve Jobs started including hardware announcements in his keynote. The last WWDC saw Jobs Release the Mac Pro, completing Apple's transition to Intel processors.
So, considering with the leaked letter, does this mean June 15 will see the iPhone's public release?
Thanks to LoopRumors for the heads-up.

I will definitely get the iphone. But $499 with a 2-year contract is quite expensive. Hopefully there will be more discount.

I'd actually suggest, waiting for the second version of the iPhone. The first edition of any product always have some bugs that need working out.
