There you have it folks: Palm finally spilled the beans (officially) on its newest product: its first "mobile companion," the Palm Foleo.
We featured the announcement announcing the announcement of the Foleo (still there?) because we thought that the new product would've been a new smartphone or PDA. This is Palm we're talking about after all, and it made sense to assume that they'd reveal another mobile gadget that fits in a pocket. That's what they've been doing throughout the years.
The Foleo may be portable, but it's obvious that from its form function and controls that it's a laptop. And laptops don't fall under the scope of The Smart PDA. Even if we considered the Foleo a revolutionary and groundbreaking new product--which it isn't--we couldn't talk about it here. Maybe the guys over at the The Gadget Weblog would be more interested (not!).
In short, we'll only be featuring the Foleo if it has something to do with a smartphone or PDA. If it somehow enhances the mobile experience, we'll be writing about it. Till then, we'll have nothing to do with this ultra-portable laptop trying to pass itself off as the first ever "mobile companion." Though we're sure it'll be easy to use and be much more expandable than Palm's other products.
