What It Means to Be a Gadget Addict

My wife says I'm a bona fide gadget addict. I get a new gadget. I'm tickled about it for a while – almost high. It starts to wear off. Then I buy a new gadget and the process starts all over again.

My wife doesn't mind the gadgets scattered all over the house. But sometimes (okay most of the time) she wishes we had some of the money back…

I've lost track of all the gadgets I have. Some are hooked up to my TV, like my Xbox 360. I have a couple of surge protector power strips in my den with eight or ten things plugged in and charging… My BlackBerry and my iPhone, a PDA or two, you get the idea. I can't find my iPod Touch at the moment – which is a shame because it has my extensive collection of Bob Dylan music on it.

Money is money. My wife likes it. And, well, I like it too. So as often as possible I buy new gadget at places like dailydeals.com, where the prices are a little lower. It makes the addiction a little easier to live with.
