Weekly Android News & Updates

Here is what's new in the world of Android this week:

1. Android Premium/Shareware Apps soon:

In 2008, Google announced that developers would be able to market and sell Shareware Android Apps in Quarter 1 of 2009. Well Google is now gearing up and ready for selling Shareware Android Apps to its users. In a recent email sent to Android developers, Google has announced that its Software store will soon be available to Android users in Germany, Austria, the Czech Republic, Netherlands and other European countries. Google has also announced that its Software store will soon start supporting paid applications in the US, UK and other European countries. This is a big step ahead as we will now see quality Android applications and games pouring into the market. Read more here. Via: BGR

2. Seidio offers more power for T-Mobile G1:

T-Mobile G1 is a nice Smartphone but G1 users have shown a lot of dissatisfaction with inadequate battery power. That's why recently we have been hearing rumours that T-Mobile is planning to ship more powerful batteries to its G1 users for free. Whether this is true or not is still a mystery. Seidio on the other hand has a practical solution for troubled G1 users. It has released a 1400 mAh battery that gives 400 mAh more power to the G1, which means that you can use your G1 for a longer time without having to recharge it. It's however going to cost you $42.95 but then it's worth it. Via: Engadget Mobile

This is certainly good news for Google as it developed the Android OS not just to run on Smartphones but also on PC's and other electronic devices. Read more here Via: Android Community
