If you're a student of Boston University, you'll be glad to know that playing around with your camera phone now earns you credit.
Seriously though, the new course being taught
by director Jan Egleson--and sponsored by Amp'd Mobile--tries to work around limitations like sound and visual quality, using the medium's strengths for maximum effect. So why is Amp'd Mobile providing the students with free smartphones? Well, as a service operator trying steal some thunder away from the big boys, Amp'd wants to be known as a provider of more than just cellular service. It hopes the students' efforts will produce content that subscribers are willing to pay for.
