Vodafone HTC Magic Review
The folks at Android Community have posted a review of the HTC Magic, which was recently launched by Vodafone UK. Here are the positives and negatives of the HTC Magic as mentioned in the review:
Positives:
The HTC Magic is lighter and slimmer than the HTC Dream.
It comes with a capacitive touch screen, trackball, Home key, Menu key, Back key, Search Key, Call and End buttons providing ample navigation options and making it easy to operate using one hand.
The capacitive touch screen is bright, responsive and evenly backlit.
The virtual keyboard is quite user-friendly and can be operated easily both in landscape and portrait modes.
The 3.2 MP camera comes with improved performance, imaging capabilities, video capture and enhanced media sharing features.
The Android OS 1.5 comes with a new WebKit browser engine and JavaScript engine that provides a richer browsing experience. The browser on the HTC Magic comes with an efficient and user-friendly bookmarking system.
Thanks to Android OS 1.5, the HTC Magic now supports Bluetooth A2DP with simplistic pairing. WiFi connectivity on the HTC Magic is also improved.
The call quality and reception is up to the mark.
It provides ample battery power for a full days worth of internet surfing, instant messaging, emailing, social networking, texting and calling.
It comes with a feature friendly video and audio player
It comes preloaded with a dedicated YouTube App, Google Latitude, Android Market & Google Talk app
Negatives:
The HTC Magic doesn’t come with out-of-the-box MS Exchange support.
USB connectivity with PC or MAC is quite complicated.
The HTC Magic comes with a standard Ext-USB port instead of a standard 3.5mm headphone jack.
There’s no video call camera.
