Verizon Wireless is asking a federal court to keep the FCC from imposing open-access rules on the winner of the future wireless auction, reports ZDNet.
The open-access rules, which enjoyed significant support from Google and self-serving scrutiny from the CTIA, would require the winner to allow connectivity to users of any device or software.
It's no surprise that Verizon wants to keep this from happening, as these set of rules will limit the ability of any service provider to control what their customers may or may not access. Which of course means less opportunities to profit by limiting available product or services.
