Unlocked & Simfree = "Tomayto" & "Tomahto"
Americans call them "trucks." For the British they're "lorries." In the US, "elevators" bring you up to your "apartment," while in the UK you use "lifts" to reach your "flat." Compare "practice" with "practise," and "analyze" with "analyse."

Seems in the GSM world, this Anglo-American contrast also applies. Because while you can currently get an "unlocked" Treo 680 for $399, a "simfree" Treo 750v will only be legitimately available once Vodafone loses exclusivity.

Put simply: "unlocked" = "simfree," at least only for GSM smartphones or PDA phones. Get it?
