Two PDAs Rambo Can be Proud Of

Tripod Data Systems seems to do a great job of creating PDAslinks that can take a beating. I'm sure John Rambo will find them useful. Plus, the models aren't all about durability; their features are on par with today's latest gadgets.

Both the Ranger and Recon model lines are powered by Windows Mobile 5.0, boast built-in Bluetooth and 802.11g Wi-Fi, have QVGA displays (320x240 for the former, 240x320 for the latter), can survive 4-foot drops onto concrete, and will work underwater for 30 minutes. The Ranger seems to be the higher-end line, as they can carry as much internal memory as 512MB and feature a 53-button keyboard, while the Recon maxes out at only 128MB and relies on the touch-screen for data input.

But Wait! Of course, such toughness literally comes at a price. The Recon 400 (pictured above) is available from MobilePlanet at $1600, while a fully-loaded Ranger will make you faint at $3000. I guess Rambo will need military funding if he plans to use them.
