All those G1 fans who had pre-ordered the T-Mobile G1 would by now be enjoying and having fun with it. But if you didn't pre-order your G1, you should visit your nearest T-Mobile store today and get it as it is now available in T-Mobile stores all across the US. The T-Mobile G1 has gained much popularity for being the first Smartphone to run Google's Open Source Android OS and for providing easier and faster access to popular Google services such as Google Mail, Google Maps, Google Calender and many more. Also in the news Google has officially launched the Android Open Source Project, which means that developers from all over the world can now start developing applications and games for the T-Mobile G1 and future Android devices. The Android Open source code Android comes with a bootloader, a speech-recognition library, virtual machines, embedded linux solutions, graphic librarier, media codes, development tools and much more, which would enable the developers to come up with some serious applications for upcoming Android devices.The Android Open Source Code can be downloaded for free from source.android.com. T-Mobile G1 users would also be glad to know that Google's on-device App Market place enables them to download around 50 free Apps for their G1 Smartphones. Google has also announced that third party developers will be able to upload and distribute free applications starting on Monday 27th of October via the on-device App Market place. Developers will also be able to distribute paid applications starting Q1 of 2009. All developers who wish to distribute their applications would have to register and pay a one time fee of $25, which will authenticate and approve them for distributing their applications. According to Google's revenue model, 70% of revenue would go to the developer and rest would go to the carrier.
Google once came and revolutionalised the world wide web and now it seems that it is all set to revolutionalise the Smartphone industry with its Open Source Android OS and Platform.
