Tips from the APTA to Prevent "Blackberry Thumb"

Okay, it's obvious that gadgets, particularly smartphones and PDAs, are a huge part of our lives. What may be less apparent is how constant use of them can change our lives, and not necessarily for the better.
We've all heard how keyboards twist our wrists to cause carpal tunnel syndrome (though new research contradicts this). Now it seems that users of QWERTY devices are prone to "Blackberry Thumb," or a "catch-all phrase" for repetitive stress injuries in the joints of the hand. It seems that users who constantly type out text through a thumbboard can suffer this, according to the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA).
Whether you believe that or not, I still believe the PDF illustrating 5 exercises that supposedly prevent Blackberry Thumb is useful. These movements apparently seek to make your hands' lives more interesting, by making them do something else aside from tapping that love letter away on your TyTN. Any movement is good movement I say.

Are the pictures with the hand saying something about the movements you are talking about? I have been using the computer since 1995 and I have not encountered a problem with my hands. I am still using it, daily.
