The Treo 750v: Easy Mobile Broadband for Mac laptops

Apple's MacBooks may look real good, but owners lament its incompatibility with many mobile broadband solutions. The few ExpressCard data cards out there don't have Mac drivers. And lugging around a separate USB modem goes against the whole point of owning a laptop.

But here's a really simple solution, thanks to Palm's latest Windows Mobile smartphone. This only applies to proud owners of a 750v. I'll let Mobility Today do the rest:

Download this driver

Unzip the file, dump the contents into your modem [scripts] directory:

Macintosh HD > Library > Modem Scripts. [or for propriety's sake "Macintosh HD:Library:Modem Scripts"]

Then pair the 750v and [Mac]. Follow the options, when you get to choosing the modem for internet [dialing], choose the file you've just dumped into Modem Scripts and then complete the setup wizard.

[That's] it and even with the HSDPA hack it all works like a charm!
