The Samsung Metrowear Fashion Show, The Next Generation
Filed in archive Mobile Marketing , Opinion , Samsung , Smartphones by Rico Mossesgeld on July 24, 2007
Style Manila likes to call itself a blog focused on Manila fashion, "the fashion that's rich in flavor." And like I said, Nokia is king when it comes to smartphones in the Philippines, as evidenced by a charger rack with three slots for the Finnish brand, and one each for its competitors.

Put two and two together, and you'll realize that samsung is sponsoring a fashion show, in a bid to market its products and win the hearts of the Filipino populace. Check out some pictures from the event below:

You can see the models strut the phone along with their clothes, and even an enthusiastic audience member capturing the moment with his camera phone Lomo Automat Compact Camera. Check out Style Manila for more pics.

I only ask this because I wonder, what's point of a smartphone-themed fashion show? Will it help people equate glamour with the sponsor's product? Or is it another wasteful exercise of pretension? Those are definitely leading questions, but you're welcome to propose something else as you see fit.
