The Rumored Motorola LAZR: Behind the Name

If it's really called the MOTOLAZR (or Motorola LAZR if you don't like the new naming scheme), then Motorola's marketers have proven their naming genius. But "ZR" can only get you so far. There are only so many words you can produce with those two letters, which is why it was hard to come up with these.
- BLZR ("Blazer"). Reminds me of Dodgeball: "This is blade…lazer…blazer."
- DAZR ("Dazer"). Yes, now your smartphone can repel dogs.
- TAZR ("tazer" or "TASER"). A smartphone and a self-defense device.
- MIZR ("Mizer" or "Miser"). The perfect name for Motorola's next budget phone!
Of course, feel free to suggest your own. Maybe Motorola could've just named their new models as "new generations," such as "second generation RAZR" or "2G RIZR." They've been repackaging what's basically the same phone into different casings and form factors anyway.
