The Motorola Q Update is Finally Out
Sep 1, 2006

Motorola Q users, great news. After jumping the gun and making an apparently incomplete update for the smartphone available on their website (immediately withdrawn), Motorola seems finally satisfied. The update is finally here.
The 45MB file is surprisingly big, so Q owners should first check if they really need it. The update will:
- Completely wipe all user data and content stored in the device's internal memory
- Add Microsoft MSFP (Message and Security Feature Pack), expanding push e-mail capabilities
- Allow you to use the Q as a modem for a Windows XP machine, by far the most useful upgrade
- "Brings the Q into HAC (Hearing Aid Compliant) standards"
It's obvious that this update will require a little bit of time and effort, so only owners who really need these enhancements should consider it. Read the update guidelines to know more.
MSFP? Go to Microsoft's website for more info.

I wish I would’ve read that before I updated. All in all I was pretty happy with the update.
