What do you think of the picture above? Yes, Palm's rumored new device is said to be a UMPC. But since it apparently also functions like a cellphone, I'll be considering this one a PDA Phone.
The so-called "Experience" supposedly features the following:
- A proprietary Linux OS (it won't be using the Garnet OS?)
- Backward compatibility which lets it run on Palm OS programs.
- 128MB of RAM and 30GB internal memory
- Availability for CDMA and GSM networks, and support for 3G
- Bluetooth and Wi-Fi(!)
Is this for real? Has Palm finally created something that will satisfy long-time Treo users? Will Wi-Fi and cellular connectivity finally co-exist on one device come May? The answers are sketchy on this one, so stay tuned to The Smart PDA for more updates as they happen!
