The 2007 DST Patch is a Must

The new Daylight Saving Time (DST) started last March 11, 2007. So if you haven't downloaded all those DST patches featured here in The Smart PDA, congratulations. You've just made your life harder.
At least for affected users (people based in or who frequently visit North America). The 2007 DST scheme started around three weeks earlier than usual, and will end a week later than in previous years.
Users who manually compensate for the change (i.e., set all their appointments to begin one hour later) will find themselves out of sync. That's because when the traditional start of the DST comes around (april fools' Day), many smartphones and PDAs will automatically add an hour to everything. So those original adjusters have to move everything back.
The same thing will happen come October 28, 2007. The gadget, thinking DST has already ended, will move everything back an hour. The user will have to an add hour just to stay in sync, and will have to take that away again once the new DST scheme ends on November 4, 2007.
So it makes sense to download that DST patch for your gadget, if only to save the hassle of moving your entire schedule an hour later, then an hour earlier when the new scheme starts. And repeat the process when the scheme ends. Thanks to Brighthand for the heads-up.
