Awards nowadays are used as a marketing tool, given left and right by no-name organizations. But sometimes awards are a good guide to which programs are perfect for you, especially if the awarding-body really is authoritative.

So, take a look at Smartphone and Pocket pc magazine's Best Software Awards for 2006; you'll never know if you find anything good until you try. Besides, the list is really comprehensive (helpfully divided into sub-categories), so you'll also be hard-pressed not to find a category that appeals to you.
