Go for simple devices. Surfing the web while walking is impossible if you're gadget has no mobile broadband access, right?
Install only simple software. Less apps means less distractions. Besides, why do you need gaydar?
Use your head. Your brain is still the most powerful computer, so stop relying solely on your elctronic organizer to remember things.
Get a low cost service plan. Forget about data plans, so you won't feel the urge to check out your favorite blog wherever you are.
Keep it in the bag. Tucked in the deepest, darkest crevice of your messy bag, you'll have no idea it's there. This only works though if you...
Silence it. No audio alerts, no urgency to answer texts, emails, or calls.
Leave it at home on a night out. Yes, this is a sure way to get backlogged. The relative peace and quiet gained is worth it though.
Stay away from demanding jobs. Some employers pay well. Probably because you're expected to handle emergencies and inquiries anytime, anywhere.
Try to communicate face-to-face. Talking to someone in person still beats doing that over cell networks or the mobile web.
Turn it off. Just for a day. You deserve some uninterrupted private time.
