Stopping SMS Spam in its Tracks
A few days ago I received some SMS spam advertising the administration's senate ticket (the 2007 Philippine General Election is just weeks away). And that helped me realize that some mobiles can automatically reject messages from certain numbers. Even the lowly Nokia 1110i has the option to block messages. Even though it receives them, it stores it in a separate location, away from your inbox. I suggest finding out if your gadget has such a feature and enabling it right away.

The best thing about this is that while you save yourself from the barrage (a friend reports suffering from 20 spam messages from the same number everyday!), you wastelinks the spammers' money. They still have to pay, regardless whether or not you get to see the spam SMS.
