SMS Driving Causes Fatal Accident

Still need convincing of the dangers of texting while driving? Then you ought to read the story of Rachel Begg and Maureen Waites:
A teenagegirl killed another driver after taking her eyes off the road to send a text message.
Rachel Begg saw Maureen Waites's car too late and smashed into the back of it, killing the grandmother instantly.
The 19-year-old, who was texting as she drove home after a date with a boyfriend, told police she had not touched her mobile phone.
But tests revealed she had used it nine times in the 15 minutes before the 70mph crash.
Begg was sentenced to four years of youth detention after admitting causing death by dangerous driving.
Despite the numerous times I've composed and sent an SMS while driving (which I don't do anymore), I've never gotten involved in even minor accidents. But, like they say, you should never push your luck.
My condolences to the family of Mrs. Waites. The least Ms. Begg can do after leaving detention is to tell everyone the dangers of texting while driving.
