For all it's improvements (like the splendiferous Mini Map), The 3rd Edition of the Symbian Series 60 OS still manages SMS messages like its predecessors: like a traditional email inbox, listing individual messages.
A reason why Palm's Treos win acclaim for user-friendliness is its SMS Chat feature. In this case, texts are arranged like chat threads, so it's easy to see how the conversation developed.
So it's good to see ThreadSMS step up and bring the best of both worlds (so to speak) together. It's a shareware app that mimics the Treo's threaded SMS. The free trial version has some limitations, so spending $15 for the full version may be worth it.
