Sensible Mobile Device Laws Pass in California
Filed in archive News , Palm by Rico Mossesgeld on September 4, 2006

Here are the three bills:
- Penalizes drivers for not using hands-free devices for calls. A $20 dollar will accrue for the first offense, $50 for subsequent violations.
- Customers can now contest unauthorized wireless charges.
- The user must now give explicit confirmation before using any Wi-Fi service. Manufacturers must also place prominent warning stickers on the routers
.
Supporting Cast: Palm has been trumpeting how they're the first, and so far only, "Cell Phone Manufacturer in Support" of the first bill.
