RIM Rumored To Announce New Customer-Oriented Blackberries

Ratnamg, a member of FlyTalk Forums, has written a post alleging that RIM will soon announce a new set of Blackberries meant for the consumer market. He also writes that his source mentions version 4.5 of the Blackberry OS will have "Rich Text capabilities for email."

RIM is trying to expand into the consumer market. A few weeks ago the company announced a "marriage" with Palm, bringing their popular push e-mail service to the Treo 650 for starters.

Is this move to expand from its traditionally corporate market a sign of RIM changing with the times, or simply an effort to play catch-up?
