I don't blame palm for maximizing RIM's misfortune. After all, they need all the help they can get. Take a look at one of their newspaper ads, as presented by Gadgets on the Go:

But unless they support it with meaningful change, nothing will really happy. As has been said before, the only way Palm can return to its former glory is if it comes out with remarkable and compelling products. Remarkable that everyone's talking about them, compelling because it makes customers feel like they have no choice but to buy them.
A tall order, no doubt, but that's how Palm rose to prominence in the first place.
