In case you don't know, Palm Desktop is software you install on a computer to facilitate syncing with your Palm OS gadget. And in case it's not obvious, this is the first version designed for Windows vista-compatibility.
Keep in mind that Palm Desktop 6.2 is a beta. Meaning it's probably better to wait for Palm to come out with a final version. Unless you've recently bought a Vista computer, and you desperately need to sync your data with it.
