Now the Cops Will Know if You're Yapping While Driving
Well, you're not supposed to be using your smartphone or PDA while driving in the first place, but here's another deterrent to make sure you play it safe.

According to Newlaunches.com, you're four times more likely to get into accident while on the road if you insist on using your mobile at the same time. And if that still isn't enough, a new device from Highway Safety & Technology make it easier for the law to catch you in the act. That's because it automates everything, notifying cops when it detects a cell phone call made within range.

Aside from that, it also facilitates making you pay. Literally. The system also records your car's info, cross-reference it with a database, and send you a citation in the mail. If the good guys are feeling a little authoritarian, they can even use an EMP gun to disable your mobile gadget.

Whether this disablement is permanent, or whether affecting personal property from a distance is legal, the system will make it to the US this fall. This following a limited use in some European countries.
