For all of its integrated features, the nokia n95 suffers from a 950mAh (milliamperes, a measure of power capacity) battery. Definitely too weak to keep the phone's many functions powered for a significant amount of time.
But it looks like this problem's solved, or at least greatly improved, according to an official sales flyer for the US sale of the Nokia N95. The battery now enjoys a capacity of 1200mAh! At the negligible cost of removing the sliding lens cover to make more room, a slightly thicker battery has found its way on the back of the N95 for the US.
Even better news:
I just found out that the RAM has also been increased to 128mb. Yippee!!! I've also been informed that the release date will be sometime near the end of Q4 with the device being available first unlocked with the possibility of going to AT&T sometime in Q1 08.
Now the real question is: how long will it take for these improvements to appear in other markets? And how much does this new version cost?

There is an interesting article on money.com today titled "Nokia: Smart phones, few U.S. buyers". Nokia indeed makes many high-end smartphones, but U.S. carriers are not actively promoting them. Considered the N95 sells for $750 w/o a contract, I would rather get a free RAZR + a nice laptop for that price.
