Since publicly-held companies are required to disclose their financial information anyway, they also put a positive Spin on things and announce future plans. In other words, public disclosures are also marketing events.
This was certainty true for Palm's recent Investor and Analyst Day. Some interesting sound bites include the announcement that the new Palm OS will be available before the year ends, and of course Palm's continued assertion that they're the best in the mobile game.
