New: Three More "Ultra" Phones From Samsung

Always a great source for the full specs of smartphones, GSM Arena recently published info on three new Samsung smartphones. These new members of the "Ultra" series continue the tradition set by their predecessors: lots of features packed in super-slim profiles.

That's why all of them feature A2DP support. And music playback. And limited PIM functions. And TransFlash micro-SD slots that accept up to 2GB of additional memory. Here's why the smartphones have different model numbers:

SGH-F300 ("Ultra Music"): Even the lowest-level model handles multimedia well, with 100MB of memory, a built-in FM radio tuner and a 2.0 megapixel camera.

SGH-F500 ("Ultra Video"): Looks similar to the F300, but literally and figuratively more flexible. It also has a 2.0 megapixel camera, though video is the focus of this gadget: DivX videos stored on the 400MB of internal memory are supported. The bottom part also twists to serve as a stand.

SGH-i600 ("BlackJack"): The contender for the title of "Q-killer" uses the same OS (Windows Mobile) as its supposed prey. Easily the most full-featured of the trio, with a 2.3" landscape QVGA screen, Wi-Fi, and even HSDPA.

Apparently, the F300 and F500 are literally two-faced. One side has a small screen but a large keypad, while the opposite is true on the other. It's also interesting to note that RIM is suing Samsung because they think "Blackjack" is too similar to "BlackBerry."

Expect more info on pricing and availability on the F300 and F500 as they becomesavailable. Cingular already carries the Blackjack: $200 with a two-year commitment, $450 with no strings attached.

Thanks to Cellphone9 for the heads up.
