Google has announced a new Google Voice service that offers a number of useful features including free SMS and Voicemail services. It centralizes all your telephony needs and offers free access to SMS and voicemail inboxes, SMS Threading, SMS Archiving, Call Screening, Call Blocking, Call Recording, Contacts Management and much more. It also offers low cost international calls and access to Goog-411 directory assistance. Users will have access this service on their pc's as well as their mobile devices.
Google Voice is currently available to existing GrandCentral users, which is a service that was acquired by Google in 2007. It will soon be available to other users and you can signup for updates by visiting this link
