MyTreo.net and Cingular Offering Free Treo 680s

Sign up for Cingular through MyTreo.net, and you'll get a brand new Treo 680 for free. If you're extending your current contract with the service provider, you'll have to pay $39.99.

Unfortunately, only graphite(silver)-colored 680s are offered in this promo. You'll have to pay $399 for the copper, arctic and crimson variants (a fancy way of saying orange, white, and red), though these are unlocked.

A Caveat: You still have to pay for the smartphone, recovering the money you spent via mail-in rebate. And according to relatives who live in the US, rebates take forever to arrive, if at all.

The 680 can be used in Europe, since it’s a quad-band GSM phone. But you’ll have to get an unlocked unit.
