Moblogging Today Needs Passion and a Little Insanity

Today a package that i had been waiting for arrived - a new nokia n95.
Part of the appeal was its web browsing capabilities and wi-fi.
So the logical first move was a post via phone.
I doubt it will be a regular thing though as it is quite tedious.
I will use it for surfing and email a little though.
Without a doubt a QWERTY thumbboard would've made typing a much more enjoyable experience for the prolific blogger, but moblogging isn't impossible. I was once able to write a 197-word post with a numeric keypad while driving. Just to prove a point.
So why did I push it, composing a short article with relatively cumbersome controls with one hand on the steering wheel
, nearly avoiding rear-ending other cars at least twice? It's because I'm very passionate about doing this on a smartphone or a PDA. I must type this out on-the-go. I must moblog. And I'm a bit crazy.Someday, manufacturers will find a way to make easy and fast text input--which is a big requirement for moblogging--possible on our mobiles or handhelds. Right now however, even QWERTY thumbboards aren't as great as your typical desktop or laptop keyboard. So only you'll only see zealots like me giving moblogging a try. Just to be clear, I'm talking about blogging only through smartphones and PDAs.
The perfect usability formula has yet to be discovered. Even if your gadget can surf the web at blazing speeds, tell you where you are, and liberate you from wires, moblogging will only take off once it becomes really easy to input lots of text.
