At least, that's what online mobile recycler mopay says. But even if they're pulling your leg, there's nothing wrong with sending your old smartphone or PDA phone for recycling. Especially since just dumping them into the trash releases lots of toxic chemicals and environment. And especially since you'll get some cash in return.

That's basically the gist of mopay. All you have to do is visit their site, pick your old phone from their extensive list (brand, model), enter a little about yourself, and send your gadget and battery to the freepost address "FREEPOST MOPAY." Mopay guarantees that you'll receive a payment check (the amount of which depends on the device you've sent) within seven days starting from the time they receive your phone.

And, if you're feeling a little generous, you can ask mopay to donate 10% of your payoff--which isn't deducted from the money you'll receive--to any of the supported charities.
