LG has launched an eco-friendly device known as the GD510 or the Pop. It adheres to the European Union’s RoHS requirements and is made of polyvinyl chloride (PVC), BFR (brominated flame retardants) and CFR (chlorinated flame retardants) free materials.
The device allows solar charging using its solar-battery cover. Ten minutes of charging using the solar-battery cover provides upto 2.15 minutes of talk time or 180 minutes of standby time. It also comes with features like Eco-tree and Eco-calculator, which allow users to track reduction of CO2 emission using the solar battery cover.
The LG GD510 features a slim and stylish form factor, 3-inch WQVGA touchscreen display, 3MP camera, full multimedia options, MP3 Player, Web Browser and much more. The GD510's battery charger is eco-friendly too as it reduces carbon emissions by intimating user to unplug the charger when the device is fully charged.
It will be available in Europe and other markets in Q4 of 2009.
