Keep It Quiet With a Portable Cell Phone Jammer

While watching No Reservations lasts night, a few people including myself were irritated when some woman was loudly blabbing on her smartphone. It was the quiet part of the movie, and her voice carried so well that we practically found out about the details of her upcoming medical appointment. Can't people learn to keep their voices down while talking on the phone in quiet places?
Maybe for next time I'll purchase the Brando Cell Phone Jammer. Retailing for $166, this palm-sized gadget will block the GSM frequencies you usually find on quad-band phones (850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900 Mhz). Of course, there are some legal issues involved. Where I live, the law isn't really clear about the issue, but in the US, the FCC prohibits cellular and radio jamming equipment used by non-federal parties (including state and local governments!).
But then, what big brother won't know won't hurt him right? I'm kidding. Honestly, the Jammer
is a danger. Yes, it'll make us feel so good while we shut down those inconsiderate yappers, but what if we accidentally jammed an emergency call? And I can imagine some would jam others just for kicks.Permalink: Keep It Quiet With a Portable Cell Phone Jammer
