There is a rumor floating in the mobile industry that the new all touch Blackberry 9500 device aka thunder is coming soon. It is expected that this new iPhone competitor will be offered by Verizon Wireless in US and Vodafone in UK and Europe by the end of this year. Not much know as yet regarding the features and specifications of this device.
Also in the news, RIM and Microsoft are collaborating to bring Hotmail and other Windows Live services to Blackberry Smartphones. This will allow Blackberry users to configure push email for their Hotmail accounts, chat using Windows Live Messenger and easily use other Windows Live services. This move will help RIM target Microsoft's 430 million users and possibly expand its user base.
