iPhone Competitor Coming Zune?

CrunchGear goes gaga. A recent Microsoft filing with the FCC apparently implies that the Zune Phone is the real deal.
I think the purported May release (one month earlier than the iPhone's announced launch) is on shaky ground though. Even if service providers like Sprint are testing WiMax, the communications protocol which the zune Phone will apparently use, it's practically impossible to perfect everything in 3 months. In other words, May sounds too early to get things ready for potential customers.
But then again nothing is set on stone at this point. I was initially skeptical of the iPhone, and look where we're at now.
