The iPhone 3G was launched globally on Friday the 11th and the news is that Apple has already sold 1 million iPhone 3G devices during the weekend, which is definitely a milestone for Apple. Also there have been more than 10 million applications downloaded from Apple's new App store since its launch. There are around 800 applications available on Apple's App store; out of which 1/4th of the applications are available for free download and others are available for purchase at an affordable price.
Engadget has posted a very detailed review/preview of the iPhone 3G and here is the conclusion of the review:
"There are always things that could be improved, features to be added, fixes that should be applied – but from first to second gen, from year one to year two, Apple has proven itself a relentless upstart in the mobile space, and is showing no signs of slowing down. All those new features give the iPhone even more appeal than ever, but the price is what really seals the deal."
