Introducing the Freedom Keychain GPS SiRF III Receiver
Sep 20, 2007

I agree with All About Symbian: the Freedom Keychain gps receiver is a great idea. This tiny Bluetooth-powered gadget pairs up to your laptop, smartphone, or PDA, and gives it GPS-capability. So long as it's within a few feet, meaning you can keep it in your pocket (perhaps with some keys?) or bag, and actually pretend that your gadget has some GPS built-in. Here are the official features:
- Currently the world's most compact and neatest GPS receiver available
- Ideal for connecting to your notebook, PDA or Mobile Phone by state of the art Bluetooth technology
- SiRF Star III works from your pocket, hand bag or briefcase
- Works with all the popular mapping software currently available
- Can be charged in the car or at home – USB charger cable and Car charger cable provided
- Capable of connecting simultaneously to up to up to 20 satellite channels
- Working time of up to 9hrs
- Up to 10 meter range
- Size: 49 x 32 x 19 mm. (2 x 1.25 x 0.75 ins )
- Weight: 30gms (1.06 ozs)
The bundled car charger is a welcome addition. It's just too bad if your smartphone or PDA dies quickly if you leave its Bluetooth on, or if you'll have a hard time setting up the Freedom Keychain with your gadget (it comes with no software). Price is at least $129.95.
