Recent posts on Mobitween and by Adobe's Bill Perry may indicate increasing acceptance of Flash Lite. The former has released a document detailing agreements with several service providers, plans to concentrate on North American and European markets, and the use of an "innovative" business model. Perry writes "many new handsets...are shipping with the 1.1 player pre-installed."
As someone who knows Flash and ActionScript, I'm excited by this. I know how powerful the programming language can be, evidenced by games such as N. I think Flash Lite still has a long way to go, as smartphones and PDAs need to become more powerful for developers to maximize it. Yet increasing support for the platform by investors and Adobe itself is something positive.
