HTC has announced its first ever WiMAX Smartphone device known as the HTC T8290 AKA HTC quartz packing some powerful connectivity features. The device will be able to provide high speed internet connections at around 14 Mbps, which is almost double the internet speed provided by HSDPA networks. It will be launched in association with Russian mobile WiMAX provider known as Yota. Here are the detailed specs:
Networks: GSM850, GSM900, GSM1800, GSM1900, UMTS900, UMTS2100
Processor: QUALCOMM(R) ESM7206A @ 528MHz
Display: 3.8 inches WVGA TFT touch screen display (480 x 800 pixels)
Camera: 5 Megapixel Camera
Memory: 512MB ROM, 256MB RAM and microSD, microSDHC, TransFlash and SDIO support
Connectivity: CSD, GPRS, EDGE, 3G/UMTS, HSDPA, HSUPA, WiFi, WiMAX, Bluetooth, Infra Red
Others: Built-in GPS, Built-in accelerometer, TV-Out
So when will this device be launched in the US and Europe? Well we will just have to wait and see...
