HTC plans to produce and sell 2 million Android Phones

There is a lot of hype circulating around the launch of first ever Google Android phone, which will be sold by T-Mobile as G1. HTC, the manufacturer of the T-Mobile G1 plans to produce and sell 2 million of these devices and it predicts that around 400,000-500,000 devices would be sold by the end of this year. If it all goes well, the launch of the first ever Google Android device would earn HTC 7 billion Taiwanese dollars in Q4 2008 and 18 billion Taiwanese dollars next year. With the price tag set at $179 for the T-Mobile G1, experts are expecting that HTC would be able to achieve its planned sales and profit figures.

Just to recap, the T-Mobile G1 Smartphone features a slide out QWERTY keyboard and it will operate on T-Mobile's high speed 3G network. It is designed to provide easier and faster mobile access to popular Google services such as Google search engine, Gmail, Google Maps, and YouTube.
