How to Take Great Pictures With Your Smartphone or PDA's Camera

When the lighting's great, built-in cameras really Shinelinks.

How to Take Great Pictures With Your Smartphone or PDA's Camera

Check out the picture above, taken by my friend Marc during the last Hot Air Balloon Fiesta. The N70's 2 megapixels produced a surprisingly high-quality image (check out Marc's other pictures). Mainly because it was around 7:30 am when snapshot was saved for posterity, so there was plenty of sunlight.

I just took this photo with the Nokia 7390. Notice the many fluorescent lights:

The relative clarity and quality of these pictures are proof that integrated cameras have come a long way from their humble .1 megapixel beginnings (look at the English version if you can't read Japanese). But even for gadgets that feature a flash, one fact remains true. Low-light conditions produce grainy, sometimes barely identifiable images. No matter the megapixel count.

In short, try to capture only well-lit subjects.
