Google Android SDK 0.9 released, FCC approves and T-Mobile confirms the HTC Dream

The launch of the first ever Google Android phone came one step closer with the release of the new Google Android SDK version 0.9, approval of htc dream by FCC and confirmation of the launch of HTC Dream by T-Mobile.

Google has recently released the version 0.9 of its Android SDK and also published the Developer Roadmap for rest of this year. This certainly means that things are gearing up for the release of the final version of the Android SDK and the launch of first ever Android device (HTC Dream) by the end of this year. The new version 0.9 comes with a number of bug fixes, a number of new API's, an improved UI and some new features including a widget based home screen, a pull up applications tab, a camera and a media player. There is also news that FCC has recently approved the HTC Dream. According to the documents hosted on FCC's website the HTC Dream will operate on 850/1900 GSM bands and T-Mobile's 3G 1700 WCDMA band. It will support GPRS, EDGE, WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity. It will also feature a "Jog Ball" similar to the Track Ball on Blackberry devices.

We also recently came across rumours that T-Mobile will be launching the HTC Dream soon. Well now there is news that T-Mobile has confirmed that it is planning to launch the first ever mobile phone powered by Google's Android OS (HTC Dream AKA G1) before Christmas.

This is good news for all the Google Android fans as all these recent events confirm that the launch of first ever Google Android Smartphone is getting nearer.
