Either they're dusting off QA failures, or early adopters are really fickle-minded, but Apple has recently made refurbished iPhones available on its online store. Meaning there are a significant number of second-hand units that need giving away.

Both variants are available, with the refurbished 4GB model going for just under $400.The 8GB variant costs $500. You can at least check out Apple's page on refurbished products if the prospect of getting second-hand gadgets is not exactly your cup of tea.
